Abrasive waterjet cutting is a process that is very similar to that of the pure waterjet, with the exception that it adds an abrasive garnet material to the high-pressure water stream.
The addition of garnet (sand) to the stream and the high pressure pump allows our machine to cut through thicker and harder materials such as metal, ceramic, stone, glass, and composites. Abrasive waterjet cutting is our most common process at ICS.
